Only an hour's drive north from the Golden Gate Bridge, the spectacular Point Reyes National Seashore (PRNS) offers the visitor over 65,000 acres of dramatic landscapes and abundant wildlife and is only moments away from the unique coastal community of Pt Reyes Station.
With over 100 miles of trails in the park, which connect to more than 500 miles of trails in adjoining parks,
the PRNS is a great place for day rides, hiking, biking, and camping.
There are four principal trail heads in the Seashore: Bear Valley, Palomarin, Five Brooks, and Estero. Bring water for yourselves; stream water is not safe for human consumption. Be prepared for fog, cold, and wind as well as sun.

For staying over, there are four camp grounds with multiple sites within the park; each has restrooms, drinking water, and hitching rails. The sights are anywhere from 2.5 miles to 8.9 miles from a trail head. Reservations are necessary (415)663-1092. The Stewart Ranch Horse Camp adjoins the park, and can accommodate up to 120 people and their horses. Call for reservations at (415)663-1362. For those who like to pamper themselves, the Point Reyes Country Inn and Stable, is a fabulous bed and breakfast for both people and horses. Call for reservations at (415)663-9696.
