DescriptionUnique in the San Francisco Bay Area, On the Waterfront B&B is a bayside retreat on the western shore of spectacular Tomales Bay, a loch-like bay which creates the Point Reyes peninsula, home of the Point Reyes National Seashore and Tomales Bay State Park. The views are breathtaking! On the Waterfront faces southeast, and from the room you can see both sunrise and the soft reflected light of sunset. When the tide is out, shorebirds, including egrets and great blue herons, can be seen just off the deck. On the Waterfront offers privacy and tranquillity in an unparalleled setting overlooking the pristine waters of Tomales Bay and the beautiful rolling hills of west Marin County. We're located on the famous tidelands of Inverness - our home is on a raised foundation, which means we are over the water when the tide is in, and over the intertidal zone when the tide is out. Ours is a true guest room. Although it has a private entrance and bath and is completely separate from the rest of the house, it is one corner of a charming Inverness residence. The village of Inverness is a 10 minute walk. The town of Point Reyes Station is a 10 minute drive. Local amenities include some of the best restaurants in the Bay area, two excellent kayak facilities, horseback touring, and locally grown oysters. The Point Reyes National Seashore surrounds the Inverness residential area, with great hiking trails and an array of both bayside and ocean beaches in close proximity. San Francisco is 40 miles to the south. Between Inverness and San Francisco lies the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, home of Muir Woods and Mt. Tamalpais. ReservationsRates start at $110 per night, including all taxes. Midweek specials are available. We must have payment in full within 7 days of booking. We are unable to accept credit cards, but we can take credit card checks. Check in time is 3 p.m. or later. Checkout is noon. If you book without enough time to send a check through the mail, please pay when you arrive. If no one is in the main house, then leave payment in the room. Our cancellation policy is that we can refund your payment if we have at least 7 days notice. With less than 7 days notice, we will happily offer a refund if we are able to book the room. contact me personally after booking: Directions to On The WaterfrontWe are located just beyond the village of Inverness on the way to the National Seashore beaches and Tomales Bay State Park. Check your odometer as you leave the village of Inverness. About 1/2 mile down the road you will see a sign on your right for Manka's (a romantic gourmet restaurant which is a five minute stroll up the hill). About 50 yards beyond that sign on the right is a house with a large rough-hewn wood fence. On the fence is a small On The Waterfront sign. Just beyond the fence is a parking area. Walk back to the gate in the center of the fence and enter there. Follow the path to the house, and after reaching the deck, turn left before the main entrance and walk around the house to the rear. Just beyond the rear corner you will find French doors. The keys to the room will be in the door. Views from On The Waterfront
