Outlook Express E-mail Configuration
- Refer to the images below. If any of the images are not identical to your screen, enter the information in the corresponding fields.
- Where 'username' and 'username@svn.net' appear in this document, use your username and not the word 'username'.
- Select Tools, Accounts. For Outlook (not Outlook Express), also try looking under Tools, Services, Internet E-Mail.
- To create a new account, Click Add, Mail. The Internet Connection Wizard will start and walk you through the steps.
- To modify the settings of an existing account, click on the account and then click on Properties.
- Click on the General tab.
- Enter SVN in the Mail account: field.
- Enter your real name as you would like it to appear in the Name: field.
- Enter your email address in the E-mail address: field.
- Click on the Servers tab.
- Enter mail.svn.net in the Outgoing Mail (SMTP): field.
- Enter mail.svn.net in the Incoming Mail (POP3): field.
- Select Log on using.
- Enter your username in the Account name: field. Your username does not include @svn.net.
- Enter your password in the Password: field.
- Click on the Connection tab.
- Under Connection, select Connect using my phone line.
- Under Modem, select your dial up connection to SVN.
- Under Advanced, unselect Leave a copy of messages on server.
- Click OK.
- In the event that Outlook Express terminates your connection automatically after sending and receiving your e-mail, follow these steps: From the main Outlook Express window, select Tools, Options. Click on the Connection tab and unselect Hang up after sending and receiving.
