Mac TCP PPP Configuration
- Please note: SVN no longer provides technical support for Macintosh systems running old (7.6 and earlier) versions of the Mac OS. This document is for reference purposes only.
- Make sure Mac TCP and Config PPP are installed on your computer. If you need to install either of these, copy them from the SVN startup disc to your computer and restart your computer after doing so.
- Refer to the images to the right of the instructions. If any of the images are not identical to your screen, enter the information in the corresponding fields.
- When closing a window, if you are asked to save any information, do so.
- Select the MacTCP control panel from the control panels list.
- Click on the More button.
- In the Obtain Address section, select Manually
- In the Gateway Address: field, enter 64.40.160.1
- In the Obtain Address section, select Server
- In the first Domain field, enter svn.net
- In the first IP Address field, enter 64.40.160.10
- In the second Domain field, enter . (a single period)
- In the second IP Address field, enter 64.40.160.10
- In the third Domain field, enter . (a single period)
- In the third IP Address field, enter 64.40.160.15
- Click on the Class: field and select C
- Click OK to close the More window.
- Click once on PPP so it is highlighted.
- Close the MacTCP window.
- Select the Config PPP control panel from the control panels list.
- Click on the Config button.
- In the PPP Server Name: field, enter SVN.NET or something similar.
- Click on the Port Speed: field and select 57600 for 56K modems, 38400 for 33.6K and 28.8K modems, or 19200 for 14.4k modems.
- In the Phone Number field, enter the local dial-up number. If you have Call Waiting, enter *70, before this number.
- Click on the Authentication button.
- Enter your username and password in the appropriate fields. Your username does not include @svn.net
- Close the Authentication window.
- Click Done to close the Config window.
- Close the Config PPP window.
- Restart your computer.
- Select the Config PPP control panel from the control panels list.
- Click Open to dial and connect.
