How to Play Oware!

The Screen Layout or Gametable:

The game table consists of the yellow game board, two special, extra cells for captives, a little white window for entering moves, a little yellow window where Oware! posts messages, a green-blue, or cyan, window for clocking each player's thinking time, two purple windows for logging the moves by each player and a white menu bar across the top for managing the way the game is played.

There are many features provided to help your understanding and enjoyment of the game. You can play against the computer or a friend; change sides either at the beginning of a game or in the middle; adjust the computer's playing strength and the speed of play. You can keep a record of a game, automatically replay it and print it. You can change the rules for ending the game to one of three traditional methods. You can stop a game and get the proper score, start a new game, and keep a running score across several games.
