About Sapient Software

Sapient Software is a small (very small!) company which produces game and recreational programs with educational value, especially for mathematics. Each program is accompanied by a book that explores the game and its background. In many cases the book will be a definitive source document on its subject.

Oware! is our first and, presently, only product. In the future we will be developing more versatile forms of Oware on Windows platforms. A medieval board game based on Pythagorean number theory has been started and some recreations based on mathematical logic are being researched.

We are located in Bolinas, a small village on the Pacific coast about 15 miles north of San Francisco, on the southern boundary of the Point Reyes National Seashore (a Federal park).
